Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is the technical name for consistent worry that interferes with daily functioning. GAD will present differently among children than adults.

Although GAD in children can be hard to see, even for a professional, once it is discovered there are effective treatments.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) are generally considered to be the most effective treatments for GAD. These treatments will be aimed at helping you to understand and break the cycle of worry and redirect your focus on things that are more important and meaningful in your life. Children have been shown to respond well to those treatments and regain their since of fin and passion in life.
